Brookson have again passed the FCSA Code of Compliance review of our Umbrella Company and Limited Company Accountancy services and can also confirm that our newly launched CIS/Self Employment service has also passed the review with flying colours to achieve full accreditation status as well.
Brookson are now in our 8th year of membership of FCSA and are one of only a handful of businesses to pass the stringent reviews which cover all aspects of business, ranging from financial stability to systems and processes to ensure we fully comply with relevant legislation.
For our umbrella company, the review includes ensuring that we are correctly operating UK payroll, our employment contract and relationship with our employees is robust, we are correctly operating national minimum wage, pensions auto enrolment, are adhering to AWR regulations and our expenses policy is compliant. For our limited company business, the key reviews are to ensure we are not at risk of MSC legislation and we offer a full and robust IR35 review service to our clients.
The FCSA is widely recognised as the industry’s compliance gold standard with the FCSA Accreditation only awarded to service providers that have been independently audited by top experts to confirm that they adhere to their rigorous Code of Compliance.
Steps to accreditation
To qualify as a Full Accredited Member, a firm must demonstrate its adherence with the FCSA’s Code of Compliance. This includes rigorous testing and assessment of its business structure, financials, services, operations, policies and processes. The review is carried out on an annual basis by an independent, professional assessor – regulated accountants and solicitors with expertise in the sector, and currently include Ernst & Young, Saffery Champness and Brabners.
Great news for Recruiters
FCSA Accredited Members represent a ready-made Preferred Supplier List (PSL) particular for those Recruiters who do not have a PSL in place currently. This ensures that recruiters only work with fully compliant firms to support them.
The FCSA said ‘We understand that developing a compliant PSL is no small challenge. Distinguishing between organisations that pay lip-service to compliance and those that are fully committed is complex, costly and time-consuming. Getting it wrong can have serious implications for your business. That’s why we have done the checks for you.’
