Brookson Sponsors Future Of Jobs Commission

Monday 24 July 2017

Brookson announces sole sponsorship of ‘The Future of Jobs’ commission’, a Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) led coalition of leading employers, academics, think-tanks, recruiters and labour market experts.

The commission will meet four times in 2017 to discuss ideas and strategies about how to build a clear vision for the UK labour market and the recruitment industry’s place within it; review and challenge existing thinking about the future of work; provide a practical focus on what the brave new world of jobs means for skills and hiring strategies; and inform and influence public policy by building on the REC’s Manifesto for Jobs.

Brookson’s Chief Executive Officer, Martin Hesketh, explains the rationale behind the decision to get involved, “For over 20 years Brookson has helped its customers deal with the complexities, uncertainties and compliance challenges that the changing world of work creates. Whether that is helping individuals who want to work flexibly, assisting organisations wanting more access to this flexible workforce, or supporting entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their business. I was therefore very pleased when Brookson was asked to become the sole sponsor and I am looking forward to personally participating in the initiative”.

A final report will be published in October 2017 and will include practical recommendations to help employers, recruiters, policy makers and individuals prepare for and shape the future of the UK jobs market.
